Is your phone FRP locked? Do you need a way to get to the Internet browser but seeing this “Update for a faster, better YouTube” message? Then this blog is for you.
Methods to bypass this YouTube update problem may differ depending on the type of mobile phone you are using but in this blog, I tested and confirmed with an older android phone of ZTE – Z557BL.
Please be aware that I’m studying how to fix Android phones, and this blog post is solely for instructional purposes. This article will concentrate on bypassing the YouTube issue to access the browser as well as the subsequent how-to procedures when you have FRP-locked mobile phones rather than demonstrating how to bypass the FRP locked phone.
In this blog, you will learn:
- (YouTube Update Problem) Opening browser from Google Maps
- (No YouTube Update Problem) YouTube Method
- (Phone with no help & feedback) If your phone has no option for help & feedback
Before you begin
Please connect your device to a WiFi network before following the steps below.
About TalkBack
If you are familiar with TalkBack, you may move forward to the main section on accessing the browser.
What is TalkBack?
TalkBack is a feature available for visually impaired mobile phone users to assist them with voice navigation. We can utilize this feature to gain access to the pages that are needed as a part of getting to the browser when the phone is FRP-locked.
How to enable TalkBack?
For the Z557BL ZTE phone, you can enable TalkBack from the Vision Settings on the Welcome page. If you don’t see this Please check your device-specific setting for how to access to TalkBack option.
Why use TalkBack?
The purpose of enabling the TalkBack feature is to access “Help & feedback” so that we can navigate our way to the browser by using the links found in its option.
How to suspend TalkBack?
Once you get to “Help & feedback”, you can suspend TalkBack (it is not mandatory but if you suspend, it will speed you up to move around). For many mobile phones, you can suspend the TalkBack by holding down the volume up and down buttons together for 3 seconds until you see an option to suspend or hear audio notifying the feature is off. This shortcuts button may not work if accessibility shortcuts are disabled.
How to get to the browser
You must first access Google Maps and enable Talkback before you can launch an Internet browser. Once Google Maps is launched, you can launch Chrome using the Google Maps assistant microphone. Please refer to the comprehensive instructions below.
From TalkBack to Google Maps
For ZTE – Z557BL phone, TalkBack can be accessed from the Vision Settings (Welcome screen). Click Vision Settings and enable Talkback.
- Step1Enable Talkback
- Step2Write “L” on the screen
- Step3Select “TalkBack Settings”
- Step4Suspend TalkBack & Scroll down and select “Help & feedback”
- Step5Select “Get started with Voice Access”
- Step6Select “change Google app settings”
- Step7Select “Notifications”
- Step8Select “Learn how to change your Google notifications”
- Step9Scroll down and select “Change your Google app location settings”
- Step10Select “Google Maps”
Now You have successfully opened Google Maps. From there we will be using the assistant microphone of the Google Maps and continue opening the Chrome browser. Please continue following below steps.
From Google Maps to Chrome
- Step1Enter any location in Google Maps. Allow using your location as a departing point and & click “Start”
- Step2Tap the assistant microphone and say “open Google”
- Step3Google will be opened
- Step4In the search box, type Chrome and select the one with Chrome icon next to it
- Step5Select “NO THANKS”, then Chrome browser will open

Now, we have successfully opened a Chrome browser!
YouTube Method
Obviously, those who have the YouTube update message will be unable to use this YouTube approach, but I am still writing it as part of my learning notes. The simplest method for opening the Chrome browser is the YouTube Way. Even if your phone is FRP locked, you can simply access Chrome by visiting a page with a YouTube video embedded in it.
To access the page with YouTube embedded, you must first locate an article titled “Use Morse code” or “About Switch Access for Android”. Simply type the article’s title into the search box under “describe your issue” to find it (Step 1 & 2).
Once you get to the article, tap the embedded video and tap three dots to go to Share and another three dots to open YouTube app. You can click on the link to launch the Chrome browser from there.

If no option for help & feedback
The help & feedback section should be present in the TalkBack Settings for the majority of mobile phones, as seen here, but some devices, like the Alcatel 5002S, do not have this option even when you access the TalkBack Settings. You might be able to access “Help & feedback” in this situation by using the keyboard settings. Please be aware that your phone must be connected to the WiFi network before proceeding with the steps below.
- Select a language other than English
- Hold the space bar of the screen to see the “change keyboard” option
- Select “LANGUAGE SETTINGS”
- Select “ADD KEYBOARD”
- Choose any language with an arrow (>) next to it
- Click the three dots menu on top and select “Help & feedback”
Please be aware that some languages may not display the above keyboard space option (found in Step 3), however as of the time I tried with an Alcatel 5002S phone, trying with Japanese did work.
